REVIVAL 2004 COMMITTEE DESCRIPTIONS

Access: 10 hrs/13+yrs. Assist people w/ disabilities. Read signs, maintain access areas. Requires: able to push wheelchair. Perk: most of the work is at stages!

Before & After: 10 hrs/15+yrs. Set up & take down booths & displays. Requires: fit physically; avail BOTH Fri. starting Noon & Mon. starting 9:00am. Pickup truck a plus!

Clearwater Store: 10 hrs/18+yrs. Set up & sell CW & performer merch. Retail experience & knowledge of CW helpful.

Clearwater T-Shirts: 10 hrs/16+yrs. Sell festival T’s, give out Volunteer T’s

Children’s Area: 10 hrs/18+yrs. Assist Randolph School supervising children’s activities. Requires: like to play w/ kids.

Communications: 10 hrs/18+yrs. Central dispatch, work with phones, radios & pagers. Special incentives to work night shifts.

Discovery Tent: 10 hrs/14+yrs. Build displays before, interpret displays & fish tanks during fest. Requires: basic knowledge of river history or ecology.

Environmental Advocacy: 10 hrs/ 13+yrs. Build displays before, staff during festival. Training provided for effective outreach on energy efficiency & renewables, closing Indian Point, water protection & related EA issues.

Information: 10 hrs/18+yrs. Give directions; answer q’s about festival & CW; Lost & Found. Requires: helpful attitude, sense of humor.

Membership Oasis: 10 hrs/18+yrs. Sign up new & renewing members, give info. Requires: Familiar w/ CW programs; friendly, organized, out-going. Hrs avail before & after the fest.

Peacekeeping: 8 hrs/18+yrs. Traffic & crowd support; give info; security for stages, equipment & perimeter. Requires: avail Fri. thru Mon. morning. Day & night shifts.

Performer Hospitality: 10 hrs/15+yrs. Prepare & maintain cabins. Staff Perf Reception, Green Room, instrument lock-up. Requires: good humor.

Pre-festival: 12 hrs/16+yrs. Work in the CW office before the fest. Ticket orders on phone, mailings, administrative work. Requires: good phone skills, flexible hrs.

Reception: 12 hrs (6 hrs Fri, 3 hrs Sat, 3 hrs Sun). Greet & check-in arriving volunteers & vendors. Requires: people skills & patience; must work Fri.

Recycling/Litterpicking: 10 hrs/12+ yrs, children w/families welcome. Collect recycling, keep fest site clean.

Signpainting: 12 hrs/15+yrs. Paint & distribute signs a few days before fest,
& breakdown after. Campsite & meals provided. Requires: skill w/ brush lettering & layout.

Site Crew: 32 hrs/20+yrs. Flexible hrs,
2 wks before & 1 wk after. Camp or commute, meals provided. Many kinds of work, including building stages & booths. Requires: physical vigor, not necessarily great strength.

Site Transportation: 10hrs/20+yrs. Transport people & equipment on-site
& off, to airports & housing. Requires: experienced, licensed driver; use own insured vehicle.

Stage Sound: 10 hrs/15+yrs. Load-in sound system Fri. afternoon (5 hrs), load-out Sun. night (5 hrs).

Ticket Sales: 10 hrs/18+yrs. Sell & process ticket sales in Box Office.

Ticket Taking: 10 hrs/14+yrs. Greet audience & check tickets at Rainbow Gate.

Vendor Support: 10 hrs/18+yrs. Help vendors set up Fri.; support during festival; assist w/ breakdown Sun. night. Requires: arrive Thurs evening.

Volunteer Hospitality: 10 hrs/18+ yrs. Greet & assist new arrivals in Volunteer Camping; monitor facilities; help set up for Acoustic Jam party in Kitchawan Lodge.

Volunteer Food, aka Kitchen Crew:
10 hrs/ 16+yrs. Prepare, deliver & serve food, clean prep areas.


DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS
All applications must be received by
~ MAY 15 ~
(No “Early Bird” deadline this year.)
~ You’ll receive your acceptance & passes by the first week in June. If you miss this deadline, you can take a chance as a walk-up at Reception on the day of the festival – but be aware that you may not be accepted, and may not get a T-shirt if you are. Be prepared to puchase a gate ticket.
~ Only registered volunteers and their children may stay in the camp and have access to volunteer food.

WHAT YOU GIVE TO THE FESTIVAL
~ Your Volunteer Donation helps pay some of Clearwater’s costs for meals, sanitation, etc. during the weekend. See the Application for details.
~ Everyone is expected to stay in good faith, serving their shifts honestly and acting as a good-will ambassador for Clearwater, treating the audience with generosity & respect.

DOGS, PETS, BIKES, FIRES
~ NOT allowed anywhere on the site, except guide dogs.
~ Fires in designated areas ONLY.

WHAT THE FESTIVAL GIVES YOU
~ Weekend Pass to the whole festival.
~ Fri. night Welcome at Dance Stage.
~ A special Volunteer T-shirt.
~ Sat. Night Parties at Dance Stage
(with band) & at Kitchawan Lodge (acoustic jam).
~ Seven meals, starting Friday evening.
~ Camping on-site all weekend. (Please see the Application for a note on where to camp.)

ARRIVAL
~ At the park on Fri 6/18 between noon & 11:00pm to check in. Please carpool!
