CSIG Grows
Ulster County software development company CSIG Inc., has grown
steadily since its inception on Long Island in 1983. CSIG joined
the Ulster County community in 2001 when a desire for better quality
of life led them to Kingston.
What began as a development company for custom software for manufacturers
and distributors has grown to become a leader in international trade
software through the development of their flagship product the Venture
Information System (VIS). VIS is designed to provide a comprehensive
financial and logistical view of an importer’s business thus
enabling them to see a clear picture of the supply chain, detailed
costing functionality, and the ability to create and manage all
documents necessary for importation of goods.
With the growing success of VIS, CSIG recognized the need to further
enhance and expand their business. “We had a working product
that functioned exceptionally well,” said Timothy Peck, vice
president of sales. “But, the user interface needed work.
Our need to make the product aesthetically pleasing led us to Oxclove.”
Oxclove Workshop, one of the Hudson Valley’s leading web development
and design companies was contracted to redesign the interface. The
relationship blossomed and the two companies merged in 2004. The
merged companies will retain their respective brands under the umbrella
of a new company, Empire iTech.
The merger is a classic example of corporate synergy. The focus
is still on custom software application development, website development
and design, as well as a continued effort to make VIS the leader
in international software. “We have always been a software
development company,” said Peck, “now that we’ve
joined forces with Oxclove we can offer services on an even larger
scale than before.” CSIG and Oxclove now share 4,500 square
feet of office space in Tech City in the Town of Ulster, as well
as 22 employees.
Other available products and services that CSIG offers are the
CareWorks software, B&B Getaways, and a new e-commerce solution
for web based businesses.
