Caesars Pocono Resorts to Re-Vamp Website

Kingston, NY – June 1, 2005 – In today’s society the internet is as common, or at times more common, than the telephone. With the heavy proliferation of the Internet in the business world the creation of a successful website goes hand in hand with a businesses success and overall market presence. It was this realization that lead Caesars Pocono Resorts to Ulster County internet production company Oxclove Workshop, less than a year after the launch of their current website.

Although that website, www.caesarspoconoresorts.com, is aesthetically pleasing it lacks a key component; information architecture, or IA for short.

“It is not enough that a website looks pretty, it must be user-friendly, and help website visitors find the value in the company; that’s where IA comes in,” says Jesse Jennifer, Oxclove Workshop Information Architect.

Jennifer explains that Information architecture is a key element for a website, especially one as large and complex as Caesars Pocono Resorts. IA is a process by which designers identify users and map out user paths so that a web site can be navigated through easily. Oxclove produces information architecture that can help users find a pre-determined user path, in Caesars case leading visitors to areas such as online booking.

“We are looking to take the Caesars website from an informational site to a business closing site,” says Rich Fuqua, Caesars Pocono Resorts director of marketing. “At this time our two main goals are to increase online booking and email penetration.”

Oxclove prides itself on partnerships with their clients. Working together to reach goals is key to their success and the success of their websites. Caesars has contracted Oxclove as a partner in their website’s success, relying on their expertise to produce a workable website that meets their business goals.

“Caesars needed a vendor that was a partner to help them succeed on the web,” says Ric Dragon, Oxclove Workshop CEO. “This is exactly what Oxclove does, we become part of the process and in that way we are effective.”

Oxclove Workshop was founded in 1997 as a web development shop providing services to graphic designers and web companies. The company has evolved into a leading internet production company with strengths in the integration of business strategies with internet technologies.

Oxclove Workshop is not only using it’s expertise in information architecture to produce a more successful website for Caesars, they are integrating their knowledge of website design, online marketing techniques and usable content management systems to aide in the overall success and business closing capabilities of the Caesars’ website.

“There are so many businesses that could benefit from our skills,” says Dragon. “If more businesses came to us and allowed us to use our expertise, as with Caesars, utilization of their website to drive business would significantly improve.”
